Weapon Block works against ranged projectiles while you're casting from afar so it's definitely worth it even if you are judicious about weapon swapping to a shield constantly. But while laying down traps you can switch to the 2x+6 set and then switch back again when the traps are set. With a full build you probably want something like Stormshield on your weapon switch anyway. Therefore you should take Weapon Block as it will help offset the defensive losses from not using a shield. Even while soloing, at the very least it will help out your own Mercenary.Īt endgame, you should be using 2x Claws that add +6 to Lightning Mastery. It is especially effective against "Extra Fast Cannot Be Frozen" monsters who tend to run right through your traps.Ĭloak of Shadows provides a miniscule benefit because it's physical based and doesn't affect your traps, but it is literally the only party-friendly skill that an Assassin has so you should take it (will help Skeletons). Psychic Hammer is an underrated skill and will help keep monsters in place (at a range) while waiting for your traps to kill them. The prerequisites leading up to them are too good to pass up.Įven with a Trap build, Claw Mastery is a requirement for Burst of Speed. You have over 100 points to play with, so there's plenty of skill points to go around.
